Osun Election: Governor Adeleke Casts Vote In Ede

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has cast his ballot in the ongoing governorship election in the state, exercising his franchise at Abogunde Saagba, Ward 2, Unit 9, in Ede.

According to Ireporter Online, Adeleke arrived at the polling unit at about 8:30 a.m. and joined other registered voters to complete the accreditation process before casting his vote.

The governor’s participation came as voting commenced across Osun State, with voters turning out in different polling units to elect the next governor of the state.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force has reiterated its restriction on the activities of the Amotekun Corps and other non-state security groups during the election.

The police also maintained the restriction on vehicular and human movement across the state, which took effect from midnight on Friday, August 14, and is expected to remain in force until 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The restriction, according to the police, is part of measures aimed at maintaining peace and ensuring the orderly conduct of the electoral exercise.

The Force Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, Anietie Iniedu, said only security agencies established and recognised under the Constitution and laws of Nigeria are authorised to operate during the election.

The police urged residents and political actors to comply with the directives and cooperate with security personnel throughout the electoral process.
