In a statement released on Sunday, the chairman of the Osun State chapter of the PDP, Hon. Sunday Bisi, issued a stern warning to the opposition APC.

Bisi voiced concerns about a faction within the APC amassing weapons and ammunition, cautioning against any attempts to disrupt peace in the state through violent means. He emphasized that the current PDP government under Governor Ademola Adeleke would not tolerate such actions, regardless of political affiliations.

The ruling party urged security agencies to remain vigilant amidst reports of death threats and responses from rival APC factions.

“We have always admired the peaceful disposition of the state leader, His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke. We share his view that meaningful development can never occur in an atmosphere of war and bloodshed,” the PDP stated.

However, the APC responded sharply, accusing Bisi of misrepresenting the security situation in the state under Governor Adeleke’s administration. The party dismissed Bisi’s statement, suggesting that no one with a discerning mind would take it seriously.

The Osun State APC chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, criticized Bisi’s allegation, highlighting ongoing legal proceedings involving an appointee of Governor Adeleke. Lawal called for Bisi to be invited by the police and DSS to clarify his remarks on the state’s security situation.
