Initially, PANDEF expressed concern that establishing the new Ministry of Regional Development might overshadow the NDDC’s role. However, after discussions and reassurances, PANDEF voiced support for the ministry’s vision and the proposed South-South Development Commission, which could further enhance the NDDC’s impact.

Minister Momoh assured PANDEF of the government’s dedication to advancing infrastructure in the Niger Delta, adding that the NDDC remains central to the ministry’s strategy. He also announced an initiative for palliative work on critical highways, underscoring a commitment to address the region’s infrastructure needs with practical and immediate solutions.

In response, PANDEF pledged to collaborate with the ministry to ensure the Niger Delta receives the necessary attention for sustainable development.
