Panel Probing Political Violence In Kano To Commence Sitting
The Judicial Commission of Inquiry on Political Violence and Missing Persons, established by the Kano State Government to investigate incidents of political violence and missing individuals during the tenure of former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (2015–2023), will commence its inaugural sitting on Monday, May 6, 2024……READ ALSO Panel Beater Sentenced To 3 Years In Jail For Stealing Customer’s Car
According to a statement from the Commission’s Secretary, Alhaji Mahmoud Bello Bari, the session will convene at Kano High Court No. 13, Miller Road, beginning at 10 a.m.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf inaugurated the Commission of Inquiry in April 2024, appointing Justice Zuwaira Yusuf of the Kano High Court and others as chairpersons and members, respectively.
During the inaugural speech, Governor Yusuf emphasized his administration’s commitment to ensuring accountability for any alleged offenses. He directed the Commission members to diligently serve the people of Kano State and uphold justice.
Governor Yusuf clarified that the establishment of the Commission was not intended to target individuals but to fulfill the mandate entrusted to him by the citizens of Kano State
