Pastor Adeboye To Attend 21st Soun Of Ogbomosoland’s Coronation
The forthcoming official coronation of Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye as the 21st Soun of Ogbomosoland will see the active participation of notable figures, including Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
The week-long event, set to commence on Thursday, December 14, will kick off with an empowerment program at the Palace of Soun of Ogbomosoland, featuring the presentation of the staff of office by Governor Seyi Makinde.
The empowerment program is driven by Oba Olaoye’s commitment to poverty eradication, with substantial funds allocated for its implementation. Governor Makinde is scheduled to officially present the staff of office to Oba Olaoye on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Ogbomoso Township Stadium. Professor Adesola Adepoju, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, announced these details during a press conference held at Ogbomoso Recreation Club on Tuesday, assuring the public of the necessary security measures in place for a smooth event.

Subsequent events include praise and concerts at LAUTECH on Monday, a Jumat service, and a reception for golfers on Friday at the Palace and Recreation Club, respectively. The Oba Ghandi Golf Tournament, traditional celebration, and entertainment are scheduled for Saturday, December 16, 2023.
The selection and subsequent approval of Prince Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye as the successor to the late King Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, Soun Ajagumgbade 111, were formalized on September 2, 2023. The installation ceremony took place on September 8, with the Ikije held on Thursday, September 14, attracting a significant turnout of Ogbomosoland’s sons and daughters at the Ogbomoso Palace.
