Known for his aggressive disciplinary methods, the self-proclaimed prophet found himself in hot water when Violet Ndhleleni (54) was reportedly attacked by Prophet Shiri over allegations of spreading false information.

The leaked audio, which circulated rapidly, portrayed Prophet Shiri boasting about his forceful methods of discipline within the congregation. The recording captured the chilling sounds of multiple slaps as he berated Ndhleleni for her outspokenness and issued menacing threats of supernatural retaliation against dissenters.

In response, Ndhleleni, alongside two other victims, Peace Tapfumaneyi and Takudzwa Dube, members of the prophet’s security team, bravely stepped forward and filed assault charges against the clergyman. As a result, Prophet Shiri faced the weight of the law, appearing before Kwekwe magistrate Mildred Matuvi and subsequently being granted bail of US$50 while awaiting further legal proceedings on charges of assault.
