Pastor Kumuyi Issues Bold Warning ‘Stop Manipulating The Poor With Sowing Seed Tactics
The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, has called on Nigerian pastors to stop exploiting their congregants through seed sowing for financial gain……CONTINUE READING
The pastor made this appeal during a sermon at a Christian gathering on Friday, October 18.
Kumuyi emphasized that the priority should be to support vulnerable church members, particularly widows, by addressing their needs rather than taking advantage of them with promises of financial prosperity through seed sowing.
He raised concerns about how some church leaders are enriching themselves at the expense of their congregants.
He stated, “Elijah added value to the less fortunate, especially widows who couldn’t repay their debts; that’s the essence of our anointing. We should uplift those who are struggling and poor.”
Kumuyi criticized certain preachers for exploiting widows, saying, “In our nation, we often hear that if you sow this seed, the Lord will multiply it a hundredfold. Let’s be honest. If you’re one of those preachers, let’s discuss this. Those widows have very little, yet we manipulate them into giving everything they have.”
He questioned the impact of these practices on widows and their families, stating, “After giving all they have to the church, how are they doing? How are their children faring? It seems the only ones prospering are the prophets, who already possess millions, while the widows remain poorer. Today’s preachers are becoming wealthier at the expense of their church members. We need to speak out and remind our prophets, preachers, and bishops that this is unacceptable. Elisha’s example of providing for the needy widows should guide us in transforming our nation.
