In a statement released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, after a meeting with critical stakeholders from Ondo State in Abuja, it was clarified that no decision had been made on zoning the party’s ticket to any specific part or area of the state.

Ologunagba assured all potential governorship aspirants and PDP members in Ondo State of a fair and impartial nomination process, emphasizing adherence to the party’s constitution, the Electoral Act, and the Party Guidelines for the Election.

Furthermore, he pledged that the nomination process and activities leading up to the election would be inclusive, transparent, and conducted in accordance with the provisions of both Nigerian and PDP Constitutions.

The NWC also approved the convening of a special meeting aimed at promoting reconciliation and unity among party stakeholders in the state. This meeting will include party leaders such as Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, top party leaders from Ondo State, and representatives from the NWC.

Ologunagba reiterated the importance of stakeholders’ commitment to the PDP and urged them to work together for the greater good of the party and the people of Ondo State. He emphasized the public’s expectation that the PDP would lead efforts to rescue the state.

Finally, the NWC reiterated its call to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that the state election is conducted freely, fairly, and credibly, underscoring the importance of a transparent electoral process.
