The party’s spokesperson, Andi Haliru, released a statement in Gusau, emphasizing that Gummi’s defection came without any internal disputes, indicating a lack of dedication to the PDP’s principles and values.

In light of this situation, the PDP has declared its intent to pursue legal action to contest Gummi’s defection and to reaffirm its commitment to restoring the mandate given to him by the people of Gummi/Bukkuyum.

“We firmly believe that his actions undermine the democratic process and the mandate entrusted to him by his constituents.

“In response to this breach of trust, the PDP state chapter will be taking legal action to challenge Hon. Gummi’s defection.

“We are determined to ensure that the mandate given to him by the people of Gummi/Bukkuyum is rightfully restored.

“We want to assure the good people of Gummi and Bukkuyum Local Government Areas that the PDP remains strong and united.

“Our commitment to serving you and upholding your interests will not waver.

“We will fight vigorously to reclaim the trust that has been compromised by this decision,” the party stated.
