In the controversial video, VeryDarkMan humorously dubbed himself the “Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) of the Online Division” while wearing the police attire.

In response to the backlash, he released an apology video on Thursday, expressing regret for wearing clothing that resembles the official police uniform. He urged Nigerians to obtain proper authorization before wearing such uniforms to avoid misunderstandings or legal complications.

“After my time at the police station for questioning regarding my post in which I wore a costume resembling their uniform, I want to clarify that I did not intend to impersonate the police in any way. I extend my sincere apologies to the Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector General of Police,” VeryDarkMan stated.

He added, “I’d also like to take this opportunity to advise the public to always seek permission from the police or other law enforcement agencies before using anything that might resemble their uniform. Even if your intentions are good, there are those who may misuse such attire. It’s essential to get proper approval before using anything that could be perceived as impersonation.”

He concluded by thanking his lawyer, saying, “A shoutout to my lawyer, @adeyanjudeji, who is always ready to support me.”
