PDP Releases Timetable For By-Elections, Pegs Senate Form At N3.5m
In preparation for the February 3, 2024 by-elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has unveiled a timetable and schedule of activities for contestants vying for Senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assemblies seats.
The released timetable, signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, outlines that the sale of nominations, expression of interest, and delegates forms will commence on December 28, 2023, concluding on January 3, 2024. Primary elections are slated for January 9, 2024.

The PDP has set the cost of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at N3.5 million, N2.5 million, and N600,000 for Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly positions, respectively.
Female aspirants and persons with disabilities will pay for nomination forms only, while youths below 40 years will receive a 50% discount on nomination forms when purchasing Expression of Interest forms.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the by-elections for February 3, 2024, to fill vacancies resulting from the resignation or demise of members of the National and State Houses of Assembly. These vacancies span two Senatorial Districts, four Federal Constituencies, and three State Constituencies, covering nine states across the country.
