Big Brother Naija Level-Up winner, Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has commenced a ₦500 million legal action against Nigerian content creator and streamer, Carter Efe, over allegations involving her personal life.

According to Ireporter Online, the controversy began after Davrel, a streamer associated with Afrobeats star Davido, made claims during an online dispute with Phyna, alleging that Carter Efe had made certain comments about the reality TV star.

Davrel also made accusations against Phyna concerning alleged personal advances and claimed she had asked him to connect her with his father.

The situation escalated when Carter Efe, during a social media confrontation with Phyna, allegedly confirmed having a past intimate relationship with her, prompting Phyna to warn that her legal representatives would take action.

During an Instagram Live session on Thursday, Phyna apologised to her supporters and announced that legal steps had been taken against both Carter Efe and Davrel.

The reality TV star said recent events had forced her to change her approach to handling public criticism, adding that she would no longer respond to serious allegations through emotional reactions but would instead rely on legal processes.

Phyna explained that while she had faced several forms of criticism throughout her career, allegations concerning her private and sexual life crossed a boundary she could not ignore.

She stated that she had realised her frequent online reactions often shifted attention away from the issues raised against her, making it appear as though she was the one at fault.

The BBNaija winner said the recent controversy marked the end of her previous approach to handling public disputes, as she had chosen to seek legal redress whenever necessary.

Phyna further disclosed that both Carter Efe and Davrel had received legal notices, warning that she was prepared to defend her reputation through appropriate channels.

Shortly after her announcement, Carter Efe confirmed in a video shared online that he had received a lawsuit demanding ₦500 million in damages.
