Police Arrest 2Baba’s Second-In-Command In Bayelsa

Police operatives in Bayelsa State have apprehended one of the perpetrators responsible for the murder of Late SP Bako Angbashim, the former Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ahoada Division, Rivers State.

The arrested suspect, identified as Onyekachi Ikowa, a 43-year-old male, is reported to be the second in command to 2aba, the leader of the notorious Icelander cult group in Rivers State.

According to a statement by the Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Asinim Butswat, Ikowa was captured on November 18, 2023, “based on credible intelligence that he was hibernating in Yenagoa after participating in the callous murder of Late SP Bako Angbashim, in September 2023”.

The Commissioner of Police for the Bayelsa State Command, CP Francis Iduh, has instructed police operatives to track down any associates of the suspect hiding in the state. He emphasized that the Bayelsa Command, under his leadership, will not provide a safe haven for criminals.

The apprehended suspect has been handed over to the Rivers State Police Command for further investigation.
