Police Bust Notorious Gang In Anambra, Recover Weapons

State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Saturday. He revealed that the suspect was caught following a gunfight between the joint security operatives and the gang.

“Acting on credible intelligence, the joint task force of police and vigilantes disrupted the gang’s activities,” Ikenga said. “During the operation on November 22, at around 10:30 a.m., one gang member was neutralized. Security personnel recovered one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and five rounds of live ammunition.”

Ikenga noted that while some gang members fled with gunshot wounds, security forces are maintaining a strong presence in the area to track the fugitives.

The Command urged residents to remain alert and report suspicious activities via the Control Room hotline at 07039194332 or the Public Relations Officer’s line at 08039334002. Additionally, citizens can use the NPF Rescue Me App available on Android and iOS devices for immediate reporting.
