Police Confirm Abduction Of Dangote Cement Workers In Edo State

Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, verified the incident, stating that the workers were abducted around 6 pm on Monday while traveling to Okpella community in a Coaster bus after the close of their workday.

Although three individuals sustained gunshot wounds during the kidnapping, they have since been rescued and taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

A statement from the police indicated that the Divisional Police Officer of Okpella Division received a distress call regarding the attack, prompting immediate mobilization of operatives, vigilantes, and hunters to conduct a thorough search operation in the forest to rescue the victims and apprehend the kidnappers.

One of the rescued victims, identified as Omoba, was found with bullet injuries and was promptly transported to Halimatu Musa Hospital for medical attention. Additionally, two other victims, including one Victor Okon, were also taken to the same hospital for treatment.

This confirmation follows earlier reports of the abduction of Dangote Cement factory workers after the close of work on Monday.
