Police Is Vital For Boosting Business Environment, Minister Emphasizes

Speaking during a meeting with the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), led by Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, the minister reiterated that the police’s primary responsibility is to maintain law and order, safeguard lives and property, and uphold the rule of law. He stressed that a safe and secure business environment is essential for smooth business operations and to instill confidence in investors.
Gaidam expressed optimism about the collaboration’s potential positive impact on Nigeria’s economic landscape. He highlighted the significance of the Ease of Doing Business Regulatory Reform Accelerator initiative in promoting business growth and development in the country. By addressing key barriers to doing business and implementing targeted reforms, the initiative aims to create a more efficient, transparent, and competitive business environment beneficial to both local and foreign investors.
The minister emphasized the importance of upholding fairness, transparency, and accountability to win investors’ trust and confidence.
Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, the Special Adviser to the President on PEBEC and Investment, commended the minister’s dedication to implementing the President’s agenda of providing a business-friendly environment. She sought the ministry’s assistance in improving the ease of doing business in airports, seaports, and trade corridors to combat extortion and reduce checkpoints on roads. Oduwole emphasized the need to address challenges hindering the movement of goods and services and to avoid litigation against agencies and the federal government.
