The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, revealed this remarkable achievement in a statement issued on Friday.

According to the statement, the Federal Intelligence Department-Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) conducted a successful operation in the early hours of February 8, 2024. The operation targeted the hideout of notorious criminals responsible for terrorizing communities in Abuja, Kaduna, Kogi, and Nasarawa states. The operation culminated in the neutralization of the criminals at their hideout located around Gitata, along the Keffi Gidan Wire Road in Nasarawa State.

The successful operation also led to the recovery of four AK47 rifles, weapons, and a bag of ammunition, dealing a significant blow to the criminal activities of the apprehended individuals. Additionally, it was revealed that these criminals were involved in supplying arms to bandits operating within the same region.

The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to employing all necessary measures to rid communities of criminal elements and maintain peace and order across the nation. This latest achievement underscores the dedication and effectiveness of law enforcement agencies in combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of citizens.

This operation follows a series of successful interventions by the police, including the recent neutralization of three notorious bandits in a forest within the Bwari area of Abuja and the elimination of a prominent kidnap kingpin named Janari, along with his accomplices, in Kaduna state.
