Police Rescue Three, Kill 8 Bandits In Bauchi
In a joint operation between operatives of the Bauchi Police Command and local hunters, three kidnapped victims were rescued from captivity. According to SP Ahmed Wakil, the command’s spokesman, the operation was carried out following credible information received regarding the suspicious activities of the bandits. Detectives deployed from Gumau, Tilde, and Tulu divisions encountered the armed bandits during routine patrol and engaged them in a firefight.
Four suspected kidnappers were neutralized during the exchange of fire. Two of the suspects, who later died, confessed to multiple kidnapping incidents across Bauchi and Plateau states, including the killing of a village head in Ruruwai village, Lame District, Toro LGA, Bauchi State, on March 17, 2024.
Following the information provided by the deceased suspects, the detectives proceeded to the kidnappers’ hideout and successfully rescued three kidnapped victims from Dokayel village, who had been taken captive on April 20, 2024.
In another firefight with the remaining accomplices guarding the hostages, four kidnappers were neutralized, and the three captives were safely rescued without any ransom paid.
