In a statement issued in Katsina, ASP Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, the spokesperson of the command, highlighted the objective of ensuring limitations on both individual and vehicular movements within Faskari and Kankara LGAs for the Saturday re-run election.
The measure is implemented to uphold order, security, and to facilitate an undisrupted voting process for the electorate, he emphasized.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Aliyu Musa, has urged residents and stakeholders in the affected LGAs to adhere to the movement restrictions. Aliyu emphasized compliance in the interest of fostering a peaceful and transparent electoral exercise and assured that ample security measures are in place to enforce the restrictions and ensure the safety of voters and election officials.
Aliyu encouraged eligible voters in the areas to actively participate in the election, emphasizing the importance of exercising their civic responsibility in a peaceful and orderly manner.
The police spokesperson shared designated contact numbers for the public to report any emergency situations in their respective areas.
