Police Verification: Over 30 Nigerians Abducted On Abuja-Kaduna Expressway

Former Kaduna lawmaker, Shehu Sani, further supported these reports, indicating that a group of terrorists had blocked the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway, resulting in the abduction of numerous passengers.

Subsequently, Adejobi took to Twitter on Thursday to confirm the situation, assuring that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, had taken decisive action to secure the release of the kidnapped victims.

Adejobi shared that the IGP had directed the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations, Ayuba Edeh, to strategically deploy personnel and assets to the affected region.

He stated, “We are aware of the present security situation along the Abuja Kaduna Expressway and in some adjoining communities in the region. We wish to confirm that the IGP has acted on this.

He has ordered the DIG Operations, DIG Ayuba Edeh, to deploy men and assets strategically to this region. More info about this will be communicated.”

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 70-year-old farmer named Pa Adeife Ifelaja was kidnapped by suspected kidnappers in Ogun State.

Ifelaja, an elder at a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Ijebu Igbo, was abducted on the night of December 31 while preparing for the Crossover service.

The kidnappers have reportedly demanded a ransom of N50 million from the family.
