Police Warn Against Breach Of Peace During Moon Sighting

In a statement released on Sunday in Bauchi, SP Ahmed Wakil, the spokesperson of the command, emphasized the need for maintaining public order and cautioned against any actions that could lead to unrest.

Wakil noted that while the tradition of celebrating the sighting of the new moon is recognized, any attempts to exploit the occasion to disturb public peace will not be tolerated.

He urged parents and guardians to supervise their children and wards to prevent them from engaging in activities that could disrupt public order.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Auwal Mohammed, sternly warned individuals with criminal intentions against causing disturbances, emphasizing that the command would take decisive action against such individuals.

Wakil reiterated that the command, under the directive of the Commissioner of Police, had put in place security measures to apprehend anyone attempting to disrupt law and order.

He called on the residents of Bauchi State to support the police in their efforts to maintain peace and security in the state, urging them to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.

The spokesperson reassured law-abiding citizens that they could carry on with their lawful activities without fear, emphasizing the commitment of the police to ensure the safety and security of all residents.
