Portable Set For Boxing Rematch Against Charles Okocha On July 31
According to Ireporter Online, street-pop artist Portable and Nollywood actor Charles Okocha are set for a highly anticipated celebrity boxing rematch scheduled for July 31 at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event, organized by Balmoral Promotions and themed “Unfinished Business,” was officially announced via Instagram, with promoters describing the night as one where four fighters will step into the ring to finally settle lingering scores. The card will also feature another bout between Agbaje and Musa.
The promotional message read: “Africa, the stage is set. Now, we settle the score. Portable. Charles Okocha. Agbaje. Musa. Four fighters. One ring. No more talk.”
The upcoming rematch follows Portable’s recent defeat in celebrity boxing, where he lost to streamer Carter Efe at Chaos in the Ring 4 held at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel. Carter Efe secured a dominant 30-27 unanimous decision across three rounds, ending Portable’s unbeaten streak and costing him his title.
Prior to that setback, Portable had enjoyed success in the celebrity boxing scene, recording victories over both Okocha and Speed Darlington, which earned him two celebrity boxing belts.
The rivalry between Portable and Okocha dates back to 2023, when Portable accused the actor of defrauding him of about N40 million in a business deal. The disagreement escalated from social media exchanges into an in-ring confrontation at Landmark Beach, Victoria Island.
In their first boxing encounter, Portable emerged victorious after four rounds, dominating the opening round with aggressive jabs while Okocha found momentum in the second. Both fighters, however, appeared exhausted by the fourth round and declined to continue, leading to Portable being declared winner and awarded the championship belt.
Okocha later rejected the outcome and has repeatedly demanded a rematch, insisting the result did not reflect the true outcome of the fight.
The July 31 clash now presents an opportunity for Okocha to settle the score, while Portable aims to bounce back from his recent defeat and reassert his dominance in celebrity boxing.
