FCT Now Functions Like A Full State – Akpabio Hails Wike, Tinubu

According to Ireporter Online, the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for what he described as significant improvements in the administration and development of Nigeria’s capital city.

Akpabio stated that the FCT is now operating in a manner comparable to a full-fledged state, following noticeable institutional expansion and administrative reforms. He made the remarks on Tuesday during the commissioning of the newly constructed Gomani–Dafa–Yangoji roads in Kwali Area Council, an event held to mark President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.

Representing President Tinubu at the ceremony, Akpabio noted that the FCT now has a more structured governance system, including an active Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries, parastatals, and various coordinators overseeing satellite town development, alongside other operational agencies under the current administration.

He attributed the developments to the collaborative efforts of President Tinubu and the FCT Minister, stating that their leadership has repositioned the capital for improved efficiency and governance.
