Dickson Meets Kwankwaso, Confirms INEC Portal Upload
The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Henry Seriake Dickson, on Tuesday held a strategic meeting with the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in Abuja as preparations for the 2027 general election gather pace.
According to reports, both leaders confirmed that Kwankwaso’s name has been successfully uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal as the NDC’s vice-presidential candidate alongside the party’s presidential flag bearer, Peter Obi.
Speaking after the meeting, Kwankwaso disclosed that he received Dickson at his Abuja residence, where he briefed the NDC leader on the outcome of his recent political consultations and engagements across the North-West geopolitical zone. He described the consultations as productive, noting that they had yielded encouraging results for the party ahead of the 2027 polls.
Kwankwaso also revealed that Dickson confirmed the successful submission of his nomination and the completion of the process for uploading his name to the INEC portal as the party’s vice-presidential candidate. He stressed that the party remains united and committed to its political objectives.
Dickson, in a separate statement, corroborated Kwankwaso’s account, stating that the meeting focused on developments arising from the vice-presidential candidate’s consultations across the North-West. He added that Kwankwaso informed him that he had concluded the necessary documentation relating to his nomination.
The former Bayelsa State governor further confirmed that Kwankwaso’s name had been successfully uploaded to the INEC portal as the NDC’s vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
Dickson reaffirmed the party’s resolve to remain focused on its mission, expressing confidence in the NDC’s preparations as it intensifies efforts ahead of the next general election.
