Rainstorm Devastates Kaduna Community, Leaving 1,000 Homes Destroyed

According to Mr. Tanko Gajere, a resident of Kasuwan Magani, the rainstorm commenced on Thursday evening around 6:30 pm and persisted for over three hours, displacing more than 400 families and rendering them homeless.

Gajere reported that the forceful windstorms accompanying the rain blew off roofs, scattering debris up to half a kilometer away. He described the situation as dire, particularly for families already struggling to meet their basic needs.

The affected communities, including Kasuwan Magani, Dutsen Gaya, Rumau, Kanla, Iburu, Gefe, Ungwan Kajuru, Ungwan, Aku, Kufana, and part of the Idon community, are in urgent need of government intervention. Gajere appealed to both the Federal and Kaduna State Governments to provide relief materials to assist those affected by the disaster.

While acknowledging that the Kaduna State Government has been informed of the incident, Gajere expressed disappointment at the lack of immediate assistance from authorities. He emphasized the urgency of the situation, urging prompt action to alleviate the suffering of the affected residents.
