Retired Police Officer Ascends To Throne In Ebonyi Community

In a remarkable display of community unity and forward-looking leadership, the residents of Ndieze Enyim autonomous community in Ebonyi State have elected a retired police officer, Chief John Nwokpor Nwophoke Odah, as their traditional ruler.

With the title of Eze-elect (Nwopho III of Ndiebor Ishiagu), Chief Odah, who served and retired as a Sergeant in the Nigeria Police Force, now stands poised to guide his community towards a future of prosperity and harmony.

Following his election, Chief Odah expressed gratitude to his fellow aspirants for their selfless decision to rally behind him, recognizing the pivotal role of unity in fostering peace and progress.

Promising “fairness and balance” in governance, Chief Odah pledged to bridge the gap between traditional worshippers and Christians, underscoring the importance of mutual respect and understanding in a diverse society.

Addressing pressing issues such as food security and youth empowerment, the newly elected traditional ruler highlighted the critical need for effective communication between farmers and policymakers, lamenting the diversion of agricultural incentives by politicians.

In a bold call to action, Eze Nwokpor urged both federal and state governments to expedite the release of farm inputs and incentives to empower farmers and bolster agricultural productivity.

Furthermore, he issued a stern admonition to politicians, admonishing them to fulfill their obligations to the youth after elections to curb insecurity fueled by neglected promises.
