Portable Sets Unconventional Terms For Musical Collaboration: ‘You’ll Lick My Foot, Buy Me Car’
In a bold and unconventional move, the controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, famously known as Portable, has laid out his conditions for future collaborations, asserting that any colleague seeking his feature in their song must adhere to his unique demands – licking his foot and purchasing a car for him.
The revelation came as Portable basked in the success of his chart-topping collaboration with British-Nigerian rapper, Skepta, in the hit track ‘Tony Montana’.
Addressing fans during a recent Instagram live session, the ‘Zazu’ crooner reflected on the skepticism he faced from detractors, highlighting how Skepta defied expectations and extended a helping hand.
“People talked down on me but Skepta helped me,” Portable remarked, underscoring the significance of Skepta’s support amidst the doubts surrounding his career.
Asserting his newfound influence, Portable laid out his terms for future musical partnerships, stating unequivocally: “If you want to feature me on a song, you will have to lick my foot and buy me a car.”
With ‘Tony Montana’ marking Portable’s maiden number one hit on Apple Music Nigeria since his breakthrough track ‘Zazu’, the singer’s bold stance underscores his determination to redefine the norms of collaboration in the music industry.
