Six K!lled, Two Injured As Truck Crashes Into Commercial Bus In Kogi

Six people have reportedly died while two others sustained injuries after a truck collided with a commercial vehicle along the Kabba-Odo-Ape Road in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday afternoon, September 19, 2026, with the Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Lawal Fagge, confirming the crash on Sunday.

According to reports, Fagge attributed the accident to speeding, which he identified as a major factor in the collision.

The sector commander described the incident as unfortunate, noting that six people lost their lives while two others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

He urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads and avoid dangerous driving practices, particularly speeding and unnecessary overtaking.

Fagge also advised motorists against driving while fatigued, stressing that adherence to road safety measures remains essential to preventing avoidable crashes.

The bodies of the deceased have reportedly been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Kabba, while the injured victims are receiving attention.

Authorities are expected to continue efforts to promote compliance with traffic regulations and reduce road crashes along the route.
