Comedian Carrot Top’s Lawyer Claims He Was Extorted Over S3x Before Su!cide Attempt

Carrot Top’s legal team has accused Brian Evans of attempting to extort $500,000 from the comedian by allegedly threatening to make a sexually explicit recording involving him part of a public court filing.

According to court documents filed on September 3, lawyers representing the 61-year-old comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, alleged that Evans threatened to submit a USB drive containing the recording unless Thompson agreed to a $500,000 settlement.

Evans, however, has disputed the characterisation of his communications as a threat, maintaining that he was outlining the possible consequences of filing the material with the court.

In an email included as an exhibit, Evans reportedly stated that given the existing legal proceedings and media coverage, he expected journalists to report on any motion filed and speculate about the contents of the USB drive. He maintained that such reporting would be a foreseeable consequence of a public court docket and did not constitute a threat.

Evans also proposed what he described as one possible resolution to the dispute, offering to resolve all claims against Thompson in exchange for $500,000 in immediately available funds. He indicated that otherwise he would proceed with a motion seeking permission to file the material.

The court filing further alleged that Evans sent Thompson’s legal representatives links to online reports concerning his legal dispute with the comedian. Thompson’s lawyers argued that the communications amounted to an attempt to obtain money by threatening to expose their client to public embarrassment.

“This is not settlement communication,” Thompson’s legal team argued in the filing, describing the alleged conduct as an attempt to expose a private matter with the intention of obtaining money.

The extortion allegation represents the position of Thompson’s lawyers and has not been established as a criminal finding against Evans.

A representative for Thompson also referred to previous court proceedings involving Evans, claiming that a federal court had previously described him as a “vexatious litigant” and characterised some of his filings as “serial” and “spurious.” The representative also cited a previous ruling in which a court reportedly stated that the case appeared designed to harass the defendants.

The legal dispute has emerged publicly as Thompson remains hospitalised following a reported suicide attempt. His representative said the comedian is currently concentrating on his recovery and is surrounded by family and close associates.

“Mr. Thompson is currently recovering, surrounded by his family and those closest to him,” the representative said, while appealing for privacy as he receives care.

According to reports, Evans was contacted for comment but had not responded at the time of publication.
