Olumuyiwa Adejobi, IGP Egbetokun emphasized the importance of equipping investigators with the skills necessary to handle increasingly complex criminal cases.

“The IGP stressed the need for high standards of professionalism in police duties, highlighting the significance of specialized training for criminal investigation department (CID) officers to improve the efficiency and thoroughness of their work,” the statement read.

To ensure continuous development, the IGP has ordered the implementation of weekly lectures at all levels of the force—divisional, area commands, and state levels—to enhance knowledge in legal frameworks, best practices, and technological advancements in law enforcement.

Egbetokun also called on strategic managers to be proactive, uphold public peace, and maintain accountability within the force.
