Same Politicians Who Failed Nigerians” — APC Fires Back At Tambuwal

According to Ireporter Online, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State has accused former governor Aminu Tambuwal of abandoning the area during his time in office.

The allegation was made during an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Tambuwal, where the party’s local government chairman, Isa Achida, commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for what he described as a strong commitment to grassroots development. Achida said the current administration has demonstrated the importance of local governments through visible projects, strategic appointments and empowerment initiatives across the area.

He criticised Tambuwal’s involvement in a political coalition, which he described as a gathering of familiar politicians who have moved repeatedly between parties, dismissing the alliance as lacking originality. Achida maintained that the individuals behind the coalition were well known to the people and had previously failed to deliver meaningful progress to the state.

The APC chairman urged youths in Tambuwal Local Government to support continuity, arguing that Governor Aliyu had recorded more achievements for the area within a short period than past administrations. He warned against aligning with political groups he said offered no fresh ideas or solutions.

Achida also applauded the organisers of the stakeholders’ meeting, describing it as timely, and formally welcomed defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party, including three former councillors. He attributed their defection to the developmental strides of the current administration and assured them of equal rights within the APC. He further encouraged the new members to mobilise support in their communities ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing that the party was focused on reviewing its achievements and planning for the future.
