Acting on credible intelligence suggesting the presence of a weapons cache linked to the terrorists in the eastern part of Palele, the troops were directed to deploy air assets to neutralize the threats.

Providing an update on the operation, Nigerian Air Force spokesperson Edward Gabkwet informed journalists that significant damage was inflicted on the target area, with a secondary explosion indicating the destruction of weapons and ammunition.

Gabkwet further noted that these weapons were believed to be associated with a specific terrorist leader who is currently among the most wanted individuals on terrorist watchlists.

“These strikes undoubtedly weakened the capabilities of terrorist elements operating in the region, reducing their ability to launch attacks on innocent civilians, particularly in Kaduna and Niger states.

“The NAF, in collaboration with other surface forces, will continue to maintain control over areas of concern by enhancing situational awareness, conducting continuous patrols, and targeting the interception of terrorists’ safe-havens,” Daily Trust quoted Gabkwet as saying.
