Sh*ck At Gombe Govt House As Teen Guard Arrested Over Worker’s Death

According to Ireporter Online, the Nigeria Police Force in Gombe State has arrested a 19-year-old casual security guard, identified as Shuaibu Adamu, in connection with the death of a worker at the Gombe Government House.

Police authorities confirmed that the arrest followed a distress call received at approximately 3:50 p.m. on Friday, alerting the command to a suspected homicide within the Government House premises. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of a male adult later identified as Mallam Umar, a borehole operator, lying unresponsive at the scene.

Initial assessments indicated suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident, prompting security personnel to rush the victim to the Specialist Hospital in Gombe, where he was pronounced dead by a medical professional. His remains were subsequently transferred to the mortuary for autopsy.

Security sources disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Umar Chuso, personally visited the location and immediately ordered a thorough investigation into the matter. Further inquiries, supported by a review of CCTV footage, reportedly revealed that the suspect, also known by the alias “Yaya Mama,” had allegedly assaulted the victim shortly before fleeing the scene.

A coordinated follow-up operation later led to the arrest of the suspect at about 11:00 p.m. on Friday at Bagadaza Quarters in Gombe. Law enforcement officials confirmed that the suspect made an admission during preliminary questioning and remains in custody as investigations continue ahead of formal prosecution.
