The Kogi State Government has announced the passing of Justice Yahaya Adamu of the Kogi State High Court, describing his death as a significant loss to the state’s judiciary and broader legal community. According to official statements from the State Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, the late jurist was widely respected for his integrity and steadfast commitment to justice and the rule of law.

Until his demise, Justice Yahaya Adamu stood as a distinguished pillar of the judiciary, renowned for his unwavering commitment to justice, integrity, and the rule of law,” the statement said. It added that his contributions to the administration of justice in Kogi State earned him admiration and respect across the legal profession and the wider public.

The government confirmed that extensive efforts were made to ensure Justice Adamu received appropriate medical care during his illness. “Despite these interventions, his passing remains a painful and profound loss to his family, the judiciary, and the entire state,” the statement noted.

Governor Usman Ododo also paid tribute to the late judge, describing him as “a reputable voice in the temple of justice.” He acknowledged that Justice Adamu’s experience, wisdom, and dedication to fairness would be sorely missed within the legal system. The state government emphasized that the late jurist’s legacy of service and commitment to justice would continue to inspire future generations of legal practitioners.
