Shettima, Ganduje, Bag Chieftaincy Titles In Anambra

The Ofala festival in Ukpo, Anambra state, underwent a transformation into an All Progressives Congress (APC) celebration, where the national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, was honored with a chieftaincy title.

During the 32nd Ofala festival of Igwe Robert Eze of Ukpo in Dunukofia local government area of Anambra state, Vice President Kashim Shettima was also bestowed with the title of Igwe Okofia (friend of Igbo people), while Ganduje received the title of Agunechemba 1 of Ndigbo (Lion that protects Igbo people).

The event, sponsored by billionaire oil magnate Prince Arthur Eze, took place late into the night. The Vice President also attended the burial of Pa Nwankwo, the father of Anambra state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, in Isuofia, Aguata local government area of the state.

The chieftaincy title for Ganduje was explained by the monarch, citing his status as one of the leading detribalized politicians in Nigeria. The APC chairman was recognized for his protection of the Ndigbo during his tenure as governor of Kano State.

Prominent attendees at the Ofala festival included the governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma, and the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu. The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun was also among the distinguished guests, accompanying Ganduje and the Vice President, along with Vice Chairman South East, Dr Ijeomah Arodiogbu, Deputy Publicity Secretary Hon. Duro Meseko, and others.
