Sir Alex Ferguson Admitted To Hospital After Falling Ill At Old Trafford
According to Ireporter Online, former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was reportedly taken to hospital on May 3 after falling ill at Old Trafford shortly before the Premier League clash between Manchester United and Liverpool.
The 84-year-old football icon had arrived at the stadium ahead of the high-profile encounter but began feeling unwell less than an hour before kick-off, prompting immediate medical attention. He was initially treated by medics inside the Stretford End tunnel before being transferred to an ambulance for further assessment.
Sources suggest the hospital visit was purely precautionary, with early indications expressing optimism about a swift recovery at home. A source noted that Ferguson was conscious and sitting up in the ambulance, describing him as “okay” at the time of transfer. The club, however, declined to issue an official comment, according to reports.
Ferguson remains a regular presence at Old Trafford, often attending matches from the directors’ box. Following his retirement in 2013, he served as a club ambassador for over a decade and continues to hold the record as Manchester United’s most successful manager.
The latest health scare is not believed to be related to the brain haemorrhage he suffered in 2018, which required emergency surgery and left doctors giving him a 20 percent chance of survival at the time. Reflecting on that ordeal in his documentary Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In, he previously said: “There were five brain haemorrhages that day. Three died. Two survived. You know you are lucky.”
