According to a statement by the task force’s spokesman, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, the misconduct occurred during a raid in the Gowon Estate area of Lagos and was captured on CCTV.

The raid targeted a hotel notorious for harboring drug users and traffickers, leading to several arrests. However, the actions of two officers compromised the integrity of the operation. The dismissed officers, Fatai Yusuf (42) and Hammed Garuba (38), were found guilty of stealing mobile phones during the operation.

Following an investigation by the agency’s Disciplinary Committee, both officers were dismissed from service and are set to face prosecution for their actions.

CSP Adetayo Akerele, Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, condemned the incident, reiterating the agency’s commitment to discipline, integrity, and public trust.
