Tinubu Deserves Re-election For A Second Term, Hamzat Is The Best Choice For Lagos State
According to Ireporter Online, the Lagos State chapter of the Renewed Hope Labourers Network has declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office, while also endorsing Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as its preferred candidate for the 2027 Lagos governorship election. The group made the declaration in a statement issued by its state coordinator, John Folarin Odusote, following what it described as extensive consultations across the state.
The organisation described President Tinubu as a proven reform-driven leader whose ongoing economic and governance policies at the federal level should be allowed continuity to fully deliver their intended impact. It maintained that sustained implementation of current reforms would strengthen national development, especially in key sectors such as infrastructure and economic restructuring.
On Lagos politics, the group praised Dr Obafemi Hamzat as a competent and experienced administrator who has contributed significantly to the state’s development progress. It described him as a steady and effective figure within the current administration, noting that his understanding of governance and policy direction makes him well-positioned to lead the state in the future. The group further emphasized that continuity in leadership at both federal and state levels remains crucial for stability and long-term growth, particularly in a fast-expanding megacity like Lagos.
In a related development, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has also expressed confidence in Hamzat’s political future, suggesting that he is well-positioned to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. During a recent engagement with APC stakeholders, Obasa praised Hamzat’s loyalty to the party and his contributions to infrastructure development in the state, while openly declaring support for his governorship ambition and pledging commitment toward ensuring electoral success.
The group also acknowledged the efforts of Abiodun Faleke, describing him as an important figure in political mobilisation and governance advocacy within the progressive movement. It further announced plans to begin grassroots mobilisation across Lagos State in support of both Tinubu and Hamzat ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing optimism that their stance reflects the broader desire for continuity and sustained development.
