In a significant stride towards enhancing healthcare in Nigeria, Tinubu commended the collaborative effort of Afreximbank and KCH London in establishing the Africa Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) in Abuja.

Expressing Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to addressing the healthcare needs of its populace, Tinubu emphasized the critical importance of ensuring accessible and high-quality healthcare systems across Africa.

Tinubu remarked, “This facility is a great commitment to humanity. We are open and ready to assist this project in every way possible. Putting people’s welfare first is putting healthcare first.”

Highlighting the urgency of the healthcare imperative, Tinubu underscored Nigeria’s obligation to its citizens, stressing the need for concerted efforts to meet the healthcare challenges facing the continent.

In tandem with Tinubu’s vision, Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate, disclosed that the federal government has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Afreximbank for a $1 billion facility earmarked to bolster healthcare investments in Nigeria.

Furthering the collaborative agenda, Afreximbank and KCH London are poised to construct a medical and nursing school alongside AMCE Abuja, signaling a holistic approach to capacity building and medical education.

The high-level deliberations underscored Tinubu’s proactive stance and Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to revolutionizing healthcare delivery, heralding a new era of transformative partnerships and sustainable development in the healthcare sector.
