Reliable sources within the Presidential Villa, Abuja, disclosed to BusinessDay on Monday that the President was slated to unveil the platform on Tuesday, enabling Nigerians to provide evaluations of each Minister’s performance through the designated channels.

However, the launch of the platform has been postponed to the following week to allow the Office of the Special Adviser on Policy Coordination, led by Hadiza Bala-Usman, to finalize the necessary arrangements.

“This process will unfold in three stages. Firstly, members of the public can utilize the platform to access relevant information regarding President Bola Tinubu’s targets for each Ministry, providing feedback on Ministerial performance based on these objectives,” explained a source familiar with the matter.

“The subsequent phase will involve an evaluation conducted by the Policy Coordination office, followed by assessments from a panel of Consultants. These assessments will form the basis for determining the retention or dismissal of Ministers based on their performance.”

Bala-Usman had previously indicated that President Tinubu would remove Ministers who fail to fulfill their mandates, underscoring the President’s commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians.

Addressing participants at a technical retreat for federal ministries’ delivery desk officers in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, Usman emphasized the imperative role of these officers in monitoring Ministerial progress and reporting challenges to the Central Delivery Coordinating Unit (CDCU).

The retreat aimed to familiarize delivery officers with progress tracking frameworks and enhance their capacity for monitoring delivery plans.

Following the Ministerial retreat in November 2023, President Tinubu instructed the Special Adviser on Policy and Coordination to promptly activate a performance tracking system utilizing cutting-edge digital innovation for real-time oversight.

Furthermore, the retreat recommended various measures to enhance government efficiency, including promoting transparency in contract bidding processes, aligning MDA budgets with the President’s vision, and standardizing appointment criteria for Ministers and agency heads.

Additionally, efforts were directed towards improving judicial processes, bolstering national security, promoting agricultural sustainability, enhancing power generation capacity, revitalizing the steel industry, and advancing education, health, and social development sectors.

The government’s multifaceted approach underscores its commitment to delivering tangible results and fostering inclusive growth and development across Nigeria.
