The ruling APC leadership has voiced apprehension over the actions of Nyesom Wike in the FCT. They assert that the recent appointments made by the FCT minister could potentially lead to a significant loss for the APC in the territory come 2027. Expressing their discontent, aggrieved APC chieftains in the region have called upon President Tinubu to intervene and caution Wike, as they perceive his appointments of Rivers PDP chieftains in Abuja as detrimental to their party’s interests….READ ALSOPresident Tinubu Presents Apc Flag To Senator Okpebholo, Says Party On The Path To Victory In Edo Guber

The FCT chapter of the APC conveyed their concerns during a media briefing held at the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat in Abuja. They criticized Wike for prioritizing his PDP loyalists over APC members, urging President Tinubu to intervene before Wike’s actions undermine the APC’s political standing in the nation’s capital.

Wike has faced criticism for his appointments since assuming office, notably appointing Hon. Chidi Amadi as his Chief of Staff. Conversely, President Tinubu appointed Felix Amaechi Obuah as coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, among others. These appointments have sparked discontent among APC members, particularly indigenous FCT residents who feel marginalized.

Addressing the media, Abdulwahab Ekekhide, an APC chieftain in the FCT, criticized the appointments as biased and disregarding the contributions of FCT APC members to the president’s electoral victory.

Overall, the APC leadership in the FCT is concerned about the implications of Wike’s actions and seeks intervention to safeguard their party’s interests in the territory’s political landscape.
