Atiku criticized the recent local government elections in Rivers State.

Wike’s remarks followed Atiku’s suggestion that the election results, where the Action Peoples Party (APP) won 22 out of 23 chairmanship seats, were a sign of the people’s rejection of Wike’s leadership.

During a luncheon in honor of Rivers State’s 10th Legislative Assembly on Saturday, Wike responded by pointing out Atiku’s own electoral defeats, having lost the presidential elections in both 2019 and 2023 as the PDP candidate. Wike added that Atiku had been rejected by Nigerians.
