₦500,000 Reward Awaits Whistleblowers On Illegal Haulage – Dangote

Dangote Industries Limited has unveiled a ₦500,000 cash reward for members of the public who provide credible information that leads to the arrest of individuals involved in the illegal use of the company’s trucks for unauthorized haulage activities.

According to Ireporter Online, the initiative forms part of the company’s intensified efforts to combat the misuse of Dangote-branded vehicles for transporting unauthorized goods and passengers while safeguarding the integrity of its nationwide logistics operations.

In a statement released by the company, management explained that the whistleblower programme is designed to identify and expose individuals exploiting Dangote trucks for unlawful commercial purposes. It urged Nigerians to promptly report any suspicious movement involving its vehicles, emphasizing that trucks operated by its subsidiaries are strictly authorized to transport only approved products.

The company stated that anyone who provides verifiable information resulting in the arrest of offenders or the recovery of unauthorized goods conveyed in Dangote trucks will receive a cash reward of ₦500,000.

Dangote Industries further clarified that each of its subsidiaries operates under clearly defined haulage guidelines. Trucks belonging to Dangote Cement are permitted to transport only cement, limestone, clinker, coal and high-grade gypsum, while Dangote Sugar Refinery vehicles are designated exclusively for sugar products.

Similarly, trucks operated by NASCON Allied Industries are authorized to transport Dangote Salt and DanQ Seasoning products, Dangote Packaging vehicles are restricted to bags and packaging materials, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals trucks are approved for polypropylene products, while Dangote Fertiliser Limited vehicles are designated solely for the transportation of urea fertilizer.

The company warned that any Dangote-branded truck found carrying products outside its approved category would be regarded as engaging in illegal haulage. It stressed that both drivers and owners of unauthorized cargo risk arrest and prosecution under applicable laws, while any illegally transported goods could also be confiscated by relevant authorities.

Dangote Industries disclosed that security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, have been empowered to arrest drivers using the company’s trucks for unauthorized commercial haulage. The company noted that the enforcement measure is intended to tackle logistics-related fraud and prevent the abuse of its brand identity.

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy against illegal haulage and other fraudulent logistics activities, the company encouraged whistleblowers to provide comprehensive details when making reports. Such information includes the truck type, registration number, cab number, vehicle location, truck colour, description of the goods being transported and, where possible, photographs of both the vehicle and its cargo.

According to the company, providing accurate information will assist investigators in verifying reports, tracking the affected vehicles and facilitating the arrest of offenders. It also announced that dedicated telephone hotlines have been established across its various operations, including the Obajana, Okpella and Gboko plants, to receive reports from members of the public.

Dangote Industries called on Nigerians to support the campaign by exposing drivers, cargo owners and other individuals involved in the unlawful use of its trucks. The company maintained that public cooperation is essential to protecting legitimate business operations, promoting transparency and accountability, preserving the integrity of its transportation network and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice.
