According to Ireporter Online, the Lagos State Police Command has commenced an intensive manhunt for the unidentified gunmen responsible for the killing of the Organising Secretary of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Toba Ajiboye, widely known as Toba Ijaya.

The attack reportedly occurred on Sunday night as Ajiboye was returning home from his childhood neighbourhood in Fadeyi. The assailants allegedly intercepted his vehicle along the Ikorodu Road corridor before opening fire, leaving the car extensively damaged by multiple bullet holes.

Images and videos shared on social media after the incident showed the white vehicle riddled with bullets across the windscreen and several other parts, underscoring the ferocity of the attack.

Early reports indicated that Ajiboye and other occupants of the vehicle survived the ambush despite sustaining varying degrees of gunshot injuries. However, it was later confirmed that the NURTW official succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment.
