The announcement was made in a statement on Friday by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

Ganduje, who currently holds the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will now be in charge of overseeing FAAN’s operations, a pivotal agency responsible for the development and management of airports across Nigeria.

With a long history of public service, Ganduje’s tenure as Governor of Kano was marked by significant infrastructural projects and notable political influence within his party.
