Tragedy Strikes: NDLEA Officer Slain In Sokoto Gun Attack

Eyewitnesses recounted the chilling scene as gunmen, numbering four and armed with weapons, launched a brazen attack around 9:30 pm on Thursday, February 22. Amidst the chaos of their indiscriminate gunfire, one person, identified as an NDLEA operative, fell victim to a stray bullet and tragically lost his life while being rushed to the hospital.

Adding to the distress, the assailants also abducted three other individuals, including the son of eyewitness Muhammad Baba Usman. With their loved ones now held captive, families anxiously await any communication from the perpetrators to ascertain their demands.

Confirming the grim details, Sokoto Police Command spokesperson ASP Ahmed Rufa’i disclosed that the deceased was indeed an NDLEA official who was en route to Sokoto city. The police swiftly launched an investigation and are actively pursuing the perpetrators to bring them to justice.

As the community grapples with shock and grief over this senseless act of violence, authorities remain committed to apprehending those responsible and restoring safety and security to the area.
