UNIMAID VC Responds To Murder Of Lecturer In His Office

In a statement released on Tuesday by the University’s Director of Radio and Public Relations, Professor Danjuma Gambo, it was confirmed that security operatives are actively investigating the incident.

Professor Shugaba expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Dr. Kamar and urged the public to refrain from spreading unfounded rumors about the incident.

The statement reassured parents, guardians, and stakeholders that the University campus remains secure for academic activities and community service.

Professor Gambo clarified, “On Monday, 1st April, 2024, Management received a report that his lifeless body was sighted in his office, following an alarm raised by members of his family.”

He further added, “The police and other security agencies have already launched an investigation with a view to unraveling the circumstances surrounding his death.”

In light of the seriousness of the matter, university management urged staff and students to remain calm and continue their normal activities while cooperating with relevant security agencies.

The statement concluded by expressing gratitude for the support and sympathy extended by stakeholders during this difficult time.

It is recalled that Dr. Kamar was allegedly attacked and killed in his office on Sunday by unidentified assailants, sparking shock and concern within the university community.
