standards despite rising operational costs.
In a statement on December 6, Air Peace’s Chief Operating Officer, Oluwatoyin Olajide, described the FCCPC’s investigation as unfounded, stating that the airline’s pricing structure is transparent and reflects the high costs of running operations in Nigeria, which include expensive fuel, insurance, and financing rates.
Olajide also highlighted that Air Peace has been unfairly targeted compared to international airlines, noting that a one-hour flight in Nigeria would cost N700,000 if calculated purely based on operating costs. She also expressed concerns about the negative impact these accusations have had on the airline’s international reputation, revealing that Air Peace recently lost an overseas slot due to the controversy.
The airline continues to call for support from the Nigerian government to ensure it can sustain its operations and continue representing the nation globally.
