USD To NGN Exchange Rate Update For May 30, 2026
The Nigerian currency continued to trade under pressure in the parallel foreign exchange market, with the United States dollar exchanging at higher rates against the naira on May 29, 2026.
According to market information obtained by Ireporter Online from Bureau De Change operators in Lagos, the dollar was bought at ₦1,375 and sold at ₦1,385 in the black market, commonly referred to as the parallel market. The rates reflect ongoing demand for foreign exchange outside the official market.
Meanwhile, data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the official exchange rate ranged between ₦1,372 and ₦1,375 per dollar during the same period. The apex bank has consistently maintained that it does not recognize transactions carried out in the parallel market and has advised individuals and businesses seeking foreign exchange to utilize authorized financial institutions.
Foreign exchange dealers noted that rates in the market remain subject to fluctuations based on demand and supply conditions, meaning actual buying and selling prices may vary across locations and transactions.
