Reports indicate that the NEC meeting, held at the PDP’s national secretariat in Abuja, saw the presence of former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, alongside another former vice president, Namadi Sambo. Also in attendance are governors who currently serve or have previously served under the party.

It’s worth noting that both Atiku and Wike participated in the party’s national caucus meeting held yesterday at the Bauchi governor’s lodge in the Asokoro district of Abuja.

In a separate development, a former National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, has accused Nyesom Wike of attempting to stir up a crisis within the party to bolster his relevance before President Bola Tinubu.

Secondus alleges that Wike is making concerted efforts to fabricate a crisis within the party where none exists, particularly aiming to project a supremacy battle with Atiku Abubakar.

According to Secondus, Wike is attempting to portray himself as a significant figure within the PDP, holding it for his APC interests, despite his declining political influence.

He urged critical party structures like the NEC, BoT, National Caucus, and others to rise to the occasion and sideline mischief-makers like Wike, focusing instead on moving the party forward.

Secondus cautioned party leaders against being swayed by Wike’s antics, urging them not to grant him undue relevance that he no longer commands, but rather to work towards restoring the party to its former glory.
